The gutter overflowed onto the gym floor and prior to our attendance the floor had been lifted by the flooring installer to expose the wet concrete slab.
Prior to our attendance the school had placed large upright pedestal fans in the area hoping that this would help to dry the slab but after 3 weeks like this there had been no change in the moisture level. The flooring installer was monitoring the moisture levels.
Damien Tucker, South Australia State Manager, attended and inspected the area and advised that we could construct a frame over the wet area and cover this in plastic to isolate the area of drying required and that we would have it dry in 1 – 2 weeks.
The flooring installer who was on site at the time advised that he did not believe that Damien could get it dry in that period of time.
Cowan Restoration Services were given the authority by the Crawfords Assessor to proceed as per Damien’s scope.
Once the frame work had been constructed and covered in plastic Cowan Restoration Services installed the large 1200 trailer mounted desiccant dehumidifier and ran it as a neutral air supply with air movers in place with in the containment area to circulate the air.
Cowan Restoration Services were successful in getting a dry moisture reading and sign off by the installer within the two weeks much to his amazement.
